Centuries from Dinitha Prabhanka, Sahan Kaushalya and a match bag of 9 wickets from Praveen Maneesha helped Lumbini College claim major honors against Gurukula College in their traditional encounter of the U19 Division 1 Inter-Schools Two Day Tournament 2023/24, which was worked off today (23rd January) at Colts Cricket Grounds.
After posting 354 runs on the board for the first innings thanks to centuries from Prabhanka (113) and Kaushalya (103), Lumbini College managed to restrict Gurukula College for just 164 runs for their first innings.

After been asked to follow on, Gurukula batting lineup once again faltered with the bat as they made only 195/8 for their second innings. Maneesha continued his fine form in the tournament, producing another brilliant spell for Lumbini College. Maneesha picked up a match bag of 9 wickets for 145 runs.
Maris Stella College managed to claim first innings points against St. Anne’s College in their Tier ‘A’ encounter, which ended in a draw today at Negombo. Hasindu Perera’s brilliant knock (81) with the bat and Oshadha Gimhana’s match bag of 9 wickets with the ball were the key highlights of Maris Stella’s dominant performance.

Meanwhile, the traditional encounters – St. Servatius’ College vs St. Aloysius’ College and Wesley College vs. Kingswood College – also ended today as draws.
