Nalanda College, Colombo claimed first innings points against St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa in a drawn encounter of U19 Division 1 Tier A Inter-Schools Two Day Tournament 2023/24 worked off today (14th December) at Nalanda College Grounds, Colombo.
After been put into bat first, Nalanda College posted 260 runs on the board for their first innings thanks to Osanda Pamuditha’s brilliant half-century. Manuja Chanthuka was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors as he snared 3 wickets for 80 runs.

In their turn with the bat, St. Sebastian’s College was knocked over for 188 runs despite Vimath Dinsara’s fighting half-century. Minod Caldera and Hasith Rathnayake starred with the ball for Nalanda College sharing 7 wickets between them.
The hosts began their second innings 72 runs ahead and posted 153/5 at the close of play on day two. Manupa Manmitha dominated the proceedings with the bat, scoring a quick century for Nalanda College. He hit an unbeaten 102 runs off 114 balls with 12 fours and 6 sixes at a strike rate of 89.47.
Meanwhile, the traditional encounter between Zahira College and Moratu Maha Vidyalaya commenced today at Moratu Maha Vidyalaya Grounds.

Having opted to bat first after winning the toss, the visitors were bowled out for just 110 runs as Isuru Fernando ripped through Zahira batting lineup, picking up 5 wickets for 28 runs.
In reply, the hosts got off to a solid start as they posted 77 runs for 1 wicket at stumps on day one.
