“Regardless of these challenges, it is my belief that me and my fellow selectors have found several highly talented young Cricketers who will be the future of the Sri Lankan Cricket team. This current group of young Cricketers will achieve great heights after gaining much valuable experience within the next two years,” Wickramasinghe added.

Wickramasinghe also reiterated that he had to make hard and unpopular decisions for the betterment of Sri Lanka Cricket.

“As the Chairman of Selectors, I had to make many hard and unpopular decisions, and I would like to reiterate that these decisions were made with the best interest of Sri Lanka Cricket in mind,” he said.

He also wished the incoming Selection Committee and thanked the media for the support given to him during his tenure.
