Sri Lanka U19 registered a massive win over Pakistan U19 in the fifth Youth ODI and clinched the 5-match series, 3-2 in Karachi.

Having been asked to bat first, Sri Lanka got off to a solid start as the opening pair Pulindu Perera and Ravishan de Silva put on a 64-run stand for the first wicket.

The Skipper Sineth Jayawardene who came to bat No. 3 helped the visitors keep the momentum going, scoring a blistering knock. Jayawardene stroked 82 runs off 69 balls with 11 fours and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 118.84.

Rusanda Gamage also hit an aggressive half-century in the middle order for Sri Lanka, guiding Sri Lanka to a formidable total. Gamage scored 66 runs off 64 balls with 5 fours as the visitors posted 293/9 in the allotted 50 overs.

On their turn with the ball, Sri Lanka showed a much-disciplined bowling effort compared to their opponents as they managed to restrict the strong hosts’ batting lineup for just 128 runs.

Sri Lankan spin twins Vihas Thewmika and Malsha Tharupathi ripped through Pakistan batting lineup, sharing 6 wickets between them. Both bowlers ended up with identical figures of 3/12.
