Java Lane and Colombo tops the table while Maligawaththa Youth are still within a chance of making the knockout stage in the City League President Cup 2023 played at the City Football Complex.

Maligawaththa Youth v Moragasmulla
Moragasmulla defeated Maligawaththa Youth 2-0 with two 2nd half goals in week 2 of the tournament.
Thisara De Silva’s opened the scoring in the 55th minute. In a closely contested game, Maligawaththa Youth were searching for an equalizer till the end but Dilan Madushanka’s goal in the 90th minute gave the win for Moragasmulla.
Moragasmulla v Java Lane
Java Lane came out on top in a 6-goal thriller against Moragasmulla in week 3. Mohamed Safran scored first for Java Lane in the 4th minute. Dilan Madushanka equalized in the 38th minute as they went into half time 1-1.
Just a minute into the 2nd half Safran scored his 2nd and Rizkhan Faizer made it 3-1 in the 58th minute. Maduranga Silva put the game beyond Moragasmulla in the 76th minute making it 4-1. Nimala Dananjaya pulled a goal back in the 78th minute but Moragasmulla were not able to mount a comeback as it ended 4-2.

Colombo v Maligawaththa Youth
Colombo had to battle hard to beat Maligawaththa Youth 3-1 in week 3. Shafran Sathar scored for Colombo in the 15th minute and Mohamed Azam’s strike in the 34th minute made it 1-1 at half time.
Mohamed Aakib once again gave Colombo the lead with a 61st minute goal and Niran Kanishka scored in 90+1st minute to secure a nervy win.

Java Lane v Maligawaththa Youth
Two 1st half goals were enough as Java Lane beat Maligawaththa Youth 2-0 in week 4. Derrick Fernando scored the 1st goal in the 26th minute while Malaka Perera added the 2nd in the 40th minute.
Moragasmulla v Saunders
Moragasmulla and Saunders played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in week 4. Thisara De Silva scored in the 8th minute for Moragasmulla before Suntharaj Niresh equalized in the 20th minute. In a heated last few minutes Niresh received his 2nd yellow and was sent off.
