Sri Lanka white-ball Skipper Dasun Shanaka, hard-hitting batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa, spinner Maheesh Theekshana and young speedster Matheesha Pathirana have signed up for the upcoming Caribbean Premier League 2023.
The four Sri Lankans were selected in the 2023 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) draft, which took place yesterday (30th June).
Rajapaksa and Shanaka joined the St. Lucia Kings, while Pathirana and Theekshana were picked by the Trinbago Knight Riders and the Barbados Royals respectively.

Though both Rajapaksa and Shanaka have played IPL, this will be their first appearance in the CPL. Pathirana is also set to make his CPL debut and will reunite with Dwayne Bravo, the Chennai Super Kings bowling Coach who worked with the Sri Lankan slinger in the recently concluded IPL.
Theekshana was set to play in last year’s edition of the tournament, but was unable to participate as he failed to secure an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from Sri Lanka Cricket.
The tournament will be held from 17th August to 25th September in West Indies.
