Six matches of the SLC Major Clubs T20 Tournament were played today (28th May) at several venues across the island.
Shashrika Pussegolla’s all-round brilliance helped Sebastianites C & AC record a convincing win over Nugegoda SWC at P. Sara Oval Grounds, Colombo.
After being put into bat first, Nugegoda SWC were restricted to 108/9 in the allotted 20 overs. Pussegolla and Tharindu Rathnayake starred with the ball picking up 3 wickets each for Sebastianites C & AC.

Sebastianites C & AC cruised to the target in 16 overs with 7 wickets in hand thanks to the contributions made by Abishek Liyanarachchi (50*) and Pussegolla (30).
Sinhalese Sports Club registered a thrilling 9-run win over Kurunegala YCC in a low-scoring encounter worked off today at P. Sara Oval Grounds, Colombo.

After being bowled out for a paltry score of 94, SSC came out with a superb bowling effort to restrict Kurunegala YCC to just 85 runs. Left-arm seamer Kalana Perera was the pick of the bowlers for the victorious SSC as he bagged 3 scalps for 10 runs.
BRC recorded a convincing win over Negombo CC in the Group D encounter between the sides played today at Panagoda Grounds. After posting a solid total of 144 on the board courtesy of Lakshan Gamage’s excellent half-century, BRC managed to restrict the opposition to just 91 runs thanks to Duvindu Tillakaratne’s brilliant spell.
