Galle, Jaffna, Kandy, Gampaha and Anuradhapura emerged provincial winners of the Under 23 Girls District Tournament 2023.
All five winners managed to maintain their unbeaten streak on their way to the championship. Gampaha managed to clinch the Western Province championship overcoming the strong outfits from Colombo South and Colombo North.
Gampaha earned the championship title winning 3 out of 6 games while the rest of the matches ended in no results. Anuradhapura clinched the North Western and North Central Province championship, winning all four games played in the Group stage.
Kandy won the Central and Eastern Province championship, winning all five games played in the Group stage.
The last four encounters of the Group stage of the tournament were worked off yesterday with Gampaha, Kegalle, Kurunegala and Kalutara registering wins.
