Sri Lankan white-ball Skipper Dasun Shanaka has been signed by the Seattle Orcas for the inaugural edition of the Major League Cricket Tournament, which will be held in USA.
Shanaka will be the fifth Sri Lankan to be signed for the American franchise-based T20 Tournament, after Wanindu Hasaranga (Washington Freedom), Shehan Jayasuriya (Seattle Orcas), Angelo Perera (Seattle Orcas) and Lahiru Milantha (Team Texas) were picked in the player draft which was held two months ago.

Hasaranga was picked by Washington Freedom as one of their overseas signings, while Jayasuriya, Perera and Milantha, who are now based in the USA, were picked as domestic signings in the player draft.
The inaugural Major League Cricket (MLC) franchise based T20 tournament will kick off on the 13th of July this year, with the participation of six teams, namely: Team Texas, Los Angeles Knight Riders, MI New York, San Francisco Unicorns, Seattle Orcas and Washington Freedom.
