The 63rd Battle of the Mangosteens played between Kalutara Vidyalaya and Tissa Central College ended in a draw today (22nd April) at Surrey Village Grounds, Maggona.
After been put into bat first, Kalutara Vidyalaya posted a decent first innings score – 241 on the board – thanks to the well-compiled half-centuries made by Yuthika Silva and Theekshana Perera.

Malindu Dilshan was the pick of the bowlers for Tissa Central College as he bagged 4 scalps for 50 runs. Nadun Asela (3/38) and Pium Mihiranga (2/71) also starred with the ball, sharing 5 wickets between them.
In reply, Tissa Central College came close to Kalutara Vidyalaya’s first innings score, but fell short of just 8 runs as they were bowled out for 233. Tenushka Ashen and Malsha Kavishan starred with the bat, scoring excellent half-centuries.

Udan Tejaka was the star bowler on show for Kalutara Vidyalaya as he picked up 4 wickets for 37 runs.
