Dharmaraja College emerged victorious by 50 runs against Kingswood College in their 34th Annual Limited Overs Encounter played today (09th April) at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy.
After having won the toss, Kingswood College invited Dharmaraja College to bat first. Opening batsman, Pulindu Perera smashed a stunning hundred of 101-ball 117, helping his side to post a competitive total before being bowled out for 277 while Maleesha Rajakaruna also scored a fifty. In the bowling department, Ravindu Bandara and Amesh Rupasinghe picked 3 wickets apiece.
Chasing 278 to win, the Kings lost their first 4 wickets before Kavija Gamage and Amesh Rupasinghe put a 92-run stand by giving some hope to their camp.
But, apart from that, no one contributed to their innings and, they were eventually bowled out for 227 to hand a 50-run victory to Rajans to clinch the 34th One Day Encounter led by Dakshika Manukalpa, who bagged 3/32 with the ball for Dharmaraja College.
