After opting to bat first, St. Servatius’ College lost their first 5 wickets for 86 runs before Diniru Abeywickramasinghe and Kushan Wijerama rebuilt the innings with a 92-run stand for the 6th wicket. Abeywickramsinghe was their top scorer with a 64-run knock, while Wijerama scored 58 before castling both of them by Pesandu Sanjan.

With 32 extras, St. Servatius’ was all out for 221 in 49.3 overs. In the bowling department, Pesandu Sanjan picked 4/39, while Loshitha Diksith bagged 3 wickets as well.
In reply, St. Thomas’ College was not looking so good with the bat as they were blown away for a brief 64 runs, led by Viran Chamuditha who produced a magnificent spell of 10-2-14-5.

Accordingly, St. Servatius’ College, Matara secured a massive 157-run win and became victorious in the 23rd edition of the Battle of the Blues Ruhuna – One Day Encounter.
