Sri Lankan white-ball skipper Dasun Shanaka has been roped in by the Gujarat Titans as the replacement player for injured Kane Williamson, for the Indian Premier League 2023.
Williamson was ruled out from the tournament after sustaining a knee injury during the Gujarat Titans’ IPL campaign opener against Chennai Super Kings last week (31st March).

Williamson was bought by the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 auction last year, for 2 crores (Indian Rupees).
Shanaka, who was on the radar for many IPL franchises in the last 12 months considering his power-hitting abilities, finally managed to pen a deal with an IPL franchise.

The defending champions, the Gujarat Titans, currently stand at 4th place in the points table, having registered a win in the only game they played in the tournament so far.
