Five traditional encounters of the U19 Inter-Schools Division 1 Two-Day Tournament were played today (03rd March) at several venues across the island.
Richmond College registered a convincing innings win over D.S. Senanayake College in their traditional encounter worked off today at SLAOC International Cricket Stadium, Dombagoda.
Richmond College posted 233 runs for their first innings in reply to D.S. first innings total of 57 runs, taking a considerable lead of 176 runs.
D.S. Senanayake batters who faltered in the first innings, once again showcased a disappointing batting effort being bowled out for just 133 runs in the second innings.

Yuri Koththigoda who picked up a 5-wicket haul in the first innings, impressed once again with the ball snaring a 4-wicket haul for Richmondites, taking his match tally to 9 wickets for 72 runs.
Mahanama College also recorded an innings win against Kingswood College in their traditional encounter worked off today at CCC Grounds, Colombo.
After being 393/3 at the close of play on day one, Mahanama College continued their dominance with the bat on day two adding 215 runs more to the total before declaring their innings. The skipper Sachira Weliwatta top scored for Mahanama aggregating 188 runs off 223 balls with 15 fours and 2 sixes.
Kingswood College began their second innings with a massive deficit of 529 runs, but another poor batting display saw them being bowled out for just 125 runs handing a huge win for Mahanama College.
Venuk Hettiarachchi, Mahanama’s star with the ball in the first innings, shone again picking up 4 more wickets, taking his match tally to 9 wickets for 65 runs.
