Two traditional encounters of the U19 Inter Schools Cricket Tournament were played today (24th January) Colombo.  

The traditional encounter between St. Peter’s College and Ananda College ended in a no result today at Ananda College Grounds in Colombo.

In reply to St. Peter’s College’s first innings total of 350, the hosts posted 136 runs for 2 wickets before rain washed out the rest of the play for day two.

The traditional encounter between Lumbini College and Isipathana College ended in a draw today at BRC Grounds in Colombo.

After being 94/6 at stumps on day one, Isipathana College were bowled out for 151 runs for their first innings. Dumindu Sewmina was the pick of the bowlers for Lumbini College as he grabbed 4 scalps for 42 runs.

Lumbini College began their second innings 20 runs behind, and posted 127/5 at the close of play on day two. Malith Bimsara starred with the bat for Lumbini College with a vital half-century, while Sithuka Gunawardene picked up 3 wickets for Isipathana College.
