Sri Lanka Basketball Federation successfully concluded the 4th day of a 5-day national trial held in order to form the Sri Lankan squad for the FIBA 3×3 Under 17 Asia Cup 2022.
More than 100 Basketball players, both male and female, expressed their willingness by taking part in the squad selection. As a pre preparation, players were involved in playing pick-up games, which happened over the weekends for a period of 1 month.

Players were requested to attend the selection according to their respective school’s zone –
- 21st September – Schools from Colombo North zone
- 22nd September – Schools from Colombo South zone
- 23rd September – Schools from Gampaha zone
- 24th September- Schools from Galle, Jaffna & Batticaloa
- 25th September – Schools from Kandy & Kurunegala
FIBA 3×3 Under 17 Asia Cup is scheduled to be played from 13th – 16th October 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This will be Sri Lanka’s first international 3×3 assignment of 2022 for the young generation after a very long period of time.
