Sri Lanka registered another massive win at the Asian Championships, beating the Philippines 99-37, to progress to the semi-final group unbeaten.
Sri Lanka were hot favourites once again, against 8th ranked Philippines and started off in dominant fashion, with a 27-04 first quarter. They looked a little rusty throughout the game, and the Philippines too played very well, coming back strongly in the 2nd quarter with 12 goals.
Sri Lanka continued their scoring spree as expected, registering 25 and 27 goals respectively in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, but were held to just 20 in the last one, as the Philipinas used us a lot of time passing in mid-court to ensure that Sri Lanka fell short of that 100-goal mark.
Nevertheless ,it was another blowout for the Lankans, helping them top group A and move to the semi-final group, where they will face, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong in the coming days.
