Udeshika Prabodhani claimed her first two wickets of the FairBreak Invitational 2022 to help the Warriors claim a comfortable 54-run win against Barmy Army in their last game of the competition.

The Warriors, who had been winless all tournament, posted 156 in their 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant 75 off 54 by former South Africa skipper Mignon du Preez and 52 by Hayley Mathews. The Protea-Windies combo put on 60 for the 3rd wicket, before Mathews was dismissed but du Preez continued to pile on the runs despite little support from the other end.

Nevertheless, 156 looked a par total, especially with the batting line-up Barmy Army possess, lead by South African opener Laura Wolvaardt and English skipper Heather Knight.

Prabodhani struck the first crucial blow, sending Wolvaardt packing in her 1st over as du Preez held on to a brilliant catch at short mid-wicket.

Watch:

Barmy Army lost wickets at regular intervals and when Prabodhani picked up Pakistan’s Fatima Sana in the 14th over, the chase was all but done. Barmy Army ended on 102/8 in their 20 overs, with Prabodhani and Mathews picking up 2 wickets apiece.
