Ananda College beat Maliyadeva College by 153 runs in the traditional encounter between the two sides worked off today (08th May) in Colombo.

Ananda College resumed their 2nd innings on day two at 83/1 and went on to post 272 runs for 2 wickets before declaring, setting a challenging target of 370 for the opposition.
Left-handed batter Nethma Karunaratne top-scored with a magnificent century (102 runs off 122 balls with 3 fours and 6 sixes) while Nushal Dharmarathna (84) and Hansaja Jayasinghe (51*) made half-tons.
The 370-run target was a tough ask for the lads from Kurunegala as they made only 216, handing a massive 153-run victory to Ananda College. Shakthi Udara was the chief destroyer with the ball for the hosts as he ran through the visiting team’s batting line up taking 8 wickets for 77 runs.
