Thurstan College qualified to the Tier ‘B’ Final of SLSCA U19 Division 1 Cricket Tournament 2021/2022 as they beat Maris Stella College by 66 runs (D/L) in the Semi-Final worked off today (06th April) at Maggona.

Thurstan College won the toss and opted to bat first against Maris Stella College in the Semi-Final of SLSCA U19 Division 1 – Tier B Cricket Tournament 2021/2022 played today at Surrey Grounds, Maggona.
Thurstan College managed to post 225/9 in the allotted 50 overs with Tharindu Harshana top-scoring with a knock of 58 runs off 80 balls with 4 fours. Eveen Kalhara, Hansaja Hiruna, Shane Adithya and Mahindu Malith picked up 2 wickets each for Maris Stella College.
Marist Stella College struggled in the run-chase from ball one as they posted only 92 runs for 6 wickets before the play was halted due to rain. The boys from Negombo were 66 runs behind as per Duckworth–Lewis method when rain stopped play, thus Thurstan College was declared as winners of the contest.
Vihas Thewmika was the star with the ball for victorious Thurstan College as he picked up 3 wickets for 27 runs in his 8-over spell.
