The 32nd annual One Day Encounter between Dharmaraja College Kandy and Kingswood College Kandy concluded today with Dharmaraja winning the battle with 6 wickets in hand. The match was played at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium.

Having won the toss, Kingswood decided to bat first on a very green track. They lost some early wickets and were in trouble at 108-7 at the end of 42 overs. However, they managed to get 175 runs for the loss of 7 wickets mainly thanks to a 67-run partnership off just 46 deliveries between Chamudika Abeyrathne and Adhul Hakam at the latter half of the innings.
Chamudika Abeyrathne top-scored for Kingswood with an unbeaten 44 runs off 35 balls and for Dharmaraja, captain Upendra Warnakulasuriya and Praveen Theeshana picked up 2 wickets each.
Dharmaraja started in sloppy fashion but Sachintha Dissanayake managed to hold the innings long with Praveen Theeshana for an unbeaten partnership of 124 runs off 134 balls. Both batsmen batted brilliantly to be unbeaten at 69 runs. Dharmaraja got home in the 45th over with six wickets to spare.
