Sri Lanka Cricket has called for bids for a Sports Management/Marketing agency to join them in putting together a franchise-based Women’s T20 competition in the country.

SLC is reportedly hoping to conduct the tournament in October this year, with the 2022 Women’s World Cup qualifiers set to commence in November.

According to the notice posted on the Sri Lanka Cricket website, the tournament is to feature 4 teams, with each team to have a squad of 16 players, including a maximum of 6 international cricketers from ICC Full Member and Associate Member teams.

The National Women’s cricket team has not played any International Cricket since the conclusion of the T20 World Cup in March 2020, during which time SLC has conducted one domestic Division 1 Tournament.
