Perera confident of challenging England

Sri Lanka ODI & T20I skipper Kusal Perera said that his team is confident of giving a good challenge to the hosts England in the upcoming limited over series.  

Speaking to media ahead of the Sri Lanka Men’s team’s departure to England, Perera mentioned that the young Sri Lanka team is keen on giving a good challenge to the experienced hosts.

“We all know that England are a top ranked team, packed with experienced players and we must never underestimate them. But we want to give them a good challenge,” Perera said.

“Our team includes some good youngsters with a lot of domestic experience and they will like to test their skills on this tour. This will be a good experience for all of them and I hope they will get the maximum exposure from this tour,” he added

The skipper also said that the Bangladesh tour gave them many positives which will help them to compete against England. 

“We had a lot of positives from the Bangladesh ODI series and I hope that experience will be of great use when competing against the England team. We had a good training session after the Bangladesh tour and the players have worked hard to develop their physical fitness,” Perera further said.
