Sri Lankan batsman Bhanuka Rajapaksa, whose fitness has been a hot topic in the recent past, is confident he can meet the required fitness standards in one month’s time.
In order to achieve this target, Rajapaksa has hired a personal trainer and is working with him on a schedule.
“I train 2 1/2 hours a day at home with my personal trainer (Nigel Aaron) and I am confident of meeting the fitness and skin-fold levels in 30 days,” Rajapaksa told Daily Mirror.
“I have also been given a diet plan by the trainer. I don’t eat meat and I will be match-fit soon,” he added.
Rajapakse is passed the 2km run in his last attempt, however, skinfolds have been an issue for him the past. If the left-hander is able to achieve the required standards, he will be awelcome addition to the national set-up, which is in dire need of players who can clear the boundary.
