Sri Lanka ODI opening batsman Avishka Fernando has been dropped from the Sri Lankan squad which will take on Bangladesh in a 3-match ODI series as he has been unable to face the fitness test since recovering from his injury.
The 23-year old Fernando who was included in the 18-man squad for the Bangladesh ODI series will not travel to Bangladesh due to his failure to face a fitness test ahead of the series.
Fernando missed both ODI and T20I series against West Indies three months ago as didn’t attend the mandatory 2km fitness test due to an injury.
