Left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya will miss out due to an injury sustained in the Caribbean with 22-year old Praveen Jayawickrama coming in as his like-for-like replacement.

Jayawickrama, who has earned his maiden national call-up, has played only 10 first-class matches. During his short first-class career, he has managed to take 40 wickets at 24.57. In the recently concluded SLC Major Club Limited Over Tournament, he picked up 15 wickets in 7 matches.

Sri Lanka will carry a number of pace options in the squad, with Lahiru Kumara and Dilshan Madushanka coming in to replace Dushmantha Chameera, who has opted out of the series due to personal reasons.

The first Test match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will commence on the 21st April at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
