Nondescripts Cricket Club emerged champions of the SLC Major Club Limited Overs Tournament 2021 defeating Ragama Cricket Club by 145 runs at the finals.
Kamil Mishara led the way for NCC as they batted first after winning the toss. Walking in very early at 15 for 1 in the 6th over, Mishara’s marathon knock stretched to 255 runs when he was castled at 110 by Binura Fernando. The 19-year-old struck 9 boundaries in his spectacular display of batting.
Mishara was well supported by another young left-hander Kaveen Bandara who made a valuable 65 runs.
Skipper Angelo Perera also chipped into the action with a flashy 61 runs which took his team to a commanding position in the game with 286 runs on board.
Speedsters, Ishan Jayaratne and Binura Fernando bagged 3 wickets each for Ragama although almost all the bowlers went for quite plenty.
NCC bowling was of premium quality as they ran through the Ragama batting in no time. Gritty seamer Chamika Karunaratne led the wickets column with 4 scalps to his name. Pace machine Lahiru Kumara also picked up 3 wickets for 30 runs.
Janith Liyanage was the only noteworthy performer with the bat for Ragama CC. The all-rounder scored 42 runs to his name but ended up in the losing camp.
