Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa has appointed a 5-member cricket administrative committee to run Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) until its election is held next month.
Professor Arjuna de Silva will head the 5-member administrative committee while the former Sri Lankan cricketer Ashley de Silva, Sujeewa Mudalige, Uchitha Wickramasinghe and Amal Edirisooriya will serve as the other members of the committee.

Last month, the Attorney General instructed the sports minister to appoint a committee for the administration of Sri Lanka Cricket until a new administration is elected at the upcoming election.

Earlier Colts Cricket Club had written to the sports minister asking to appoint an interim committee to run SLC as they pointed out that the term of management of the local cricketing authority had ended on the 20th of February.

The newly appointed committee will handle the administrative affairs of Sri Lanka Cricket. The board election of SLC has been scheduled to be held on 20th May 2021.
