Sri Lanka capped all-rounder Thisara Perera exhibited his six-hitting prowess today smashing 52 runs off 13 balls including 6 sixes. The brutal knock went on the record books as the second-fastest 50 in List A cricket, just behind former Sri Lankan cricketer, Kaushalya Weerarathne’s 12-ball fifty recorded 16 years ago.

While scoring one of the fastest fifties in domestic cricket, Perera managed to hit 6 sixes in an over bowled by off-spinner Dilhan Cooray of Bloomfield C & AC in the last over of the innings.

In addition to Perera’s impressive knock, there were some significant contributors with the bat as five players went on to score centuries for their respective clubs.  Pabasara Waduge of Moors was the highest scorer of the day as he smashed 133 runs off 127 balls with 8 fours and 3 sixes.

Ashan Randika (124) of Army CC, Himasha Liyanage (101*) of Army CC, Lasith Abeyratne (100*) of CCC and Sammu Ashan (107*) of SSC were the other four centurions of the day.
