Sanga and Malinga in ICC teams of the Decade for 2010-2020

International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the Teams of the decade from 2010 to 2020 today (27th December).

The ICC Awards of the Decade is a one-off edition of the annual awards programme, aimed at celebrating the stand-out performers and moments from the past ten years of international cricket. Under these prestigious awards, the best Test, ODI, T20I teams from male and female category were chosen.

The performance period for the awards accounted for was between 1st January 2011 – 7th October 2020.

Sri Lanka legend Kumar Sangakkara was picked for the ICC Test Team of the decade as the wicketkeeper and Lasith Malinga was chosen for both ODI and T20I teams. 

Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was named captain of ICC’s ODI and T20 International teams of the decade while Virat Kohli was voted the skipper of the Test team.

  • ICC Test Team of the Decade: Alistair Cook, David Warner, Kane Williamson, Virat Kohli (c), Steve Smith, Kumar Sangakkara, Ben Stokes, Ravi Ashwin, Dale Steyn, Stuart Broad, James Anderson. 
  • ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Decade: Rohit Sharma, David Warner, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Shakib Al Hasan, MS Dhoni (c), Ben Stokes, Mitchell Starc, Trent Boult, Imran Tahir, Lasith Malinga. 
  • ICC’s T20I Team of the Decade: Rohit Sharma, Chris Gayle, Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell, MS Dhoni (c), Kieron Pollard, Rashid Khan, Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga. 
  • ICC Women’s ODI Team of the Decade: Alyssa Healy, Suzie Bates, Mithali Raj, Meg Lanning (c), Stafanie Taylor, Sarah Taylor, Ellyse Perry, Dane Van Niekerk, Marizanne Kapp, Jhulan Goswami, and Anisha Mohammed. 
  • ICC Women’s T20I Team of the Decade: Alyssa Healy, Sophie Devine, Suzie Bates, Meg Lanning (c), Harmanpreet Kaur, Stafanie Taylor, Deandra Dottin, Ellyse Perry, Anya Shrubsole, Megan Schutt, Poonam Yadav.
