Jaffna Stallions have signed Johnson Charles as the sixth overseas player of the team for the upcoming LPL tournament.
The franchise seemed to have everything set and ready to fire, before they were burdened by a last-minute strike by the former English batsman Ravi Bopara, who refused to board the plane unless his full payment was made upfront.
The Jaffna Stallions were quick to name his replacement as they roped in the West Indies wicketkeeper-batsman Johnson Charles. Charles will soon arrive in Sri Lanka, but will not be available for the first few games as per the quarantine rules in place.
The rest of the Jaffna Stallions overseas battalion – Duanne Olivier, Usman Khan Shinwari, Tom Moores and Kyle Abbott – have already reached the team hotel and are quarantining as per the health guidelines. Shoaib Malik is expected to reach the island on the 22nd of November.
