Former Sri Lanka Rugby President, and current Sri Lanka Rugby Life Member nominee, Mr. Asanga Seneviratne has once again been given a position in Asia Rugby after Indonesian represent Mr. Gondo Gambrio resigned from the Asia Rugby Executive Committee creating a vacant position.
Asia Rugby co-opted with Sri Lanka Rugby to endorse and nominate Mr. Asanga Seneviratne to take on the role and start serving on the Asia Rugby Executive Committee with immediate effect. However, Mr. Seneviratne is not new to Asia Rugby’s Executive Committee as he served as the Honorary Secretary General from 2013 to 2015.
During his tenure as the Sri Lanka Rugby president in 2012-2017, the Tuskers accomplished numerous achievements in international rugby. He currently serves Sri Lanka Sports as the Vice President of the Sri Lanka National Olympic Committee, as well as the Chairperson of Asia Rugby Competitions Committee (including High Performance), where he has played a critical role since January 2020.
