Kusal Mendis arrested following fatal car crash

Kusal Mendis, the Sri Lankan cricketer, has been arrested for running over a 64-year old man on a cycle, who eventually succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The incident happened in Panadura, south of Colombo, early on Sunday (July 5) morning. Mendis’s SUV has also been taken into police custody.

SSP Jaliya Senaratne, the police spokesperson, confirmed the news of Mendis’ arrest. Mendis has already been attended to by a doctor for an examination and will be produced before a local magistrate in the next 48 hours.
