Ananda College powered their way to a resounding innings and 37 run outright victory over Wesley College with more than a session to spare in their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which concluded at Ananda Mawatha yesterday.

The Anadians continued with their total dominance over their opponents on the second day as well and went on to add the finishing touches in style by bundling out the visitors for a mere 103 runs in the second innings.

The match winner for Ananda College was their off spinner Isuru Gunasekera who ripped through the Wesley batting line up almost single handedly by returning outstanding bowling figures of seven wickets for 40 runs.

Gunasekera really made amends for his first innings failure by producing his best performance for the current season as Ananda College completed their second outright win with more than a session to spare.

This was after the Anandians had further extended their first innings lead to a formidable 140 runs before declaring at 238 for 6 wickets with Nisal Francisco and Lakkhana Jayasekera stroking splendid half centuries.

Wesley: 98 and 103 (Isuru Gunasekera 7/40)

Ananda: 238-6 decl (Lakkhana Jayasekera 53, Thamalaka Athulathmudali 36, Nisal Francisco 73)
