With the objective of structuring a strong team for the 2022 and 2024 U19 World Cups, SLC has launched an under 15 Cricket Academy as part of the SLC’s newer focus on uplifting the game of cricket in Sri Lanka.
SLC and SLT join hands to construct new cricket ground
Under this initiative, 54 young cricketers have been chosen from the performances shown in the recently concluded U15 Inter-District and Inter-Provincial Cricket Tournament and these cricketers will be coached under the reputed coaches: Anura Tennakoon, Roy Dias, Ravindra Pushpakumara, Sumithra Warnakulasuriya and Dhammika Sudarshana.
35 out of the 54 players will be based on R. Premadasa International Cricket stadium, Colombo while the rest will be offered the opportunity to practice at Rangiri Dambulu International Cricket Stadium, Dambulla.

The performances of the youngsters will also be closely monitored and analyzed for improvement by the Brain Center of the SLC, whilst SLC will also provide the cricketers all the facilities required during training.
