Sri Lanka Women’s team defeated hosts Nepal in their last group stage game to book a spot in the finals today at Pokhara Rangasala, Pokhara.
Sri Lanka skipper Harshitha Madavi won the toss and elected to bat first but the Sri Lanka batters couldn’t continue from where they left things off in the match against Maldives as the visitors had to settle for 118.
Madavi who made a blistering century against Maldives had a rare failure today as she only made 16 while opener Janadi Anali mustered a run-a-ball 35 to solidify the Sri Lanka innings.
Lihini Apsara added a valuable 37 in just 27 balls late in the innings, coming in at No. 06 as she carried the Sri Lanka total to 118. The Nepali spinners bowled threatening lines to restrict the visitors under 6 runs per over.
