Even though both Semi Finals commenced on the 24th Saturday, the match featuring University of Sri Jayawardenepura and Rajarata University of Sri Lanka at the University of Moratuwa grounds in Moratuwa had to be stopped due to rain. The match which was resumed today (25th Sunday) saw defending champions J’Pura recording a comprehensive win.

J’Pura batting first on Saturday, managed to compile a modest 190/9 in their allotted 50 overs. However, when the heavens opened up and brought play to a close Rajarata had lost 2 wickets for just 15 runs. They were allowed to score only 82 more runs on the reserve day as they were bundled out for 97 in 41.5 overs.
Semi-Final 2 – University of Sri Jayawardenepura vs Rajarata University of Sri Lanka at Moratuwa
USJ – 190/9 (50)
RUSL – 97 all out (41.5)USJ won by 93 runs

In the other Semi Final University of Jaffna eased past South Eastern University of Sri Lanka by 8 wickets with 31.4 overs to spare. After keeping the South Eastern boys to a mere 125 runs, the northern boys cruised to the required target losing just 2 wickets. The match was played in the grounds of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka in Mihintale.

SEUSL – 125 all out (47.3)
UOJ – 128/2 (18.2)UOJ won by 8 wickets
The two finalists, university of Sri Jayawardenepura and University of Jaffna will now lock horns in the all-important SLUG 2019 Cricket final on the 27th of this month.
