The Bangladesh Cricket Board is waiting for reports from National Security Intelligence (NSI) before they give a green signal to the team for the upcoming tour against Sri Lanka, set to be played in July.
BCB president (Nazmul Hasan) had announced earlier that “there was no way” that the board could afford to send their national side to Sri Lanka in the wake of the terror attacks in the island nation, where nearly 300 people died and many were injured.

The three ODIs between these two nations were supposed to be played on July 25, 27 and 29 respectively but the announcement from Nazmul Hasan put the tour on doubt. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Cricket requested the BCB ‘not to’ postpone the tour and promised VVIP security during the tour.
In what now comes as a positive development, four personnel of NSI have been sent to Sri Lanka on June 26 to assess the situation, according to BCB officials.
BCB will have a meeting with government officials before taking a decision that will be based on the report of the NSI personnel, who are scheduled to return on June 29.

“They have recently requested us to continue the tour and promised VVIP security for us,” BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus told Cricbuzz. “We are waiting for the report of the national security agencies and once we get it, we will sit with the government high-ups and seek for their approval.”
BCB have also confirmed that their security team will thoroughly monitor the situation of countries they are slated to tour in the near future.
