The decision was taken at the meeting convened today by the SLSRFA with the stakeholders of the respective schools and the organizers to proceed with the call to recommence the league after the completion of the GCE Advanced Level Examinations in September.

Initially the second round of the Singer Schools Rugby League was scheduled to start on the 20th of April 2019 and with only one game played, the tournament was postponed following the Easter Sunday Attacks.

Another postponement! Schools will once again have to go back to their training grounds

Then a call was taken by the SLSRFA along with the Ministry of Defense to hold all games at the Sugathadasa Stadium starting from May 31st running through to the month of June. However, with a majority of schools forwarding their dissent over the decision, the postponement seemingly became the only available option.

However, the 75th Bradby Shield encounter will take place on the scheduled dates of 1st and 15th June and both fixtures will be played as friendlies and not recognized as tournament fixtures.
