The first semifinal of the Singer School’s ‘Under 19 Division 2’ Two Day Cricket Tournament 2018/19, was played today (5th April) at the Army grounds in Dombagoda. Royal College took on Kaluthara Vidyalaya and put on a magnificent batting display with Pasindu Sooriyabandara shining with the bat and guiding Royal to finish day 1 on a solid 402/4.
Royal secures Div. 02 L/O Championship
The skipper of Kalutara Vidyalaya won the toss and invited the opposition to take the first lease of the wicket. The Royal College batsmen took advantage of the invite and put on a brilliant batting display as they finished day one, posting a mammoth score of 402 runs for 4 wickets in 95 overs.
Sri Lanka U19 cap, Pasindu Sooriyabandara smashed an unbeaten century (146*) while left handed opening batsman Kamil Mishara who has also represented the Sri Lanka U19’s, scored a valuable 83 runs for Royal College. In addition, Isiwara Dissanayaka (68) and Kavindu Madarasinghe (64) chipped in with half-tons. Match will continue tomorrow for day two.
