A quarter final of the Singer Schools Under 19 Division 1 Cricket Tournament 2018/19 was held today as we are nearing the end of the tournament.

Mahinda College won the toss and interestingly, decided to field first in the two-day encounter which was held at Royal College grounds, Colombo.

But the plans backfired for Mahinda College as they had to spend the whole day at the ground to witness the Thomian batters pile up 274 runs for only 4 water breaks due to wickets.
The Big Match heroes, Umayanga Suwaris who was nominated as the best batsman of 140th Battle of the Blues and young batting sensation Ryan Fernando made half centuries to stretch Mahinda’s misery.
Mahinda bowlers couldn’t find breakthroughs regularly as S. Thomas’ dominated the day 01 proceedings.
