It took almost 13 games before the defending champions awoke from the dead, like a revenant in the shadows and put away an opponent in stunning fashion.
Kandy SC, took the entirety of almost 75 minutes, to find a higher gear to accelerate and career away at the last furlong. They bolted home and routed CH&FC for a 13+ win.
A Willwara and Thilina Wijesinghe combined to go use the width of Nittawella and set the turf on fire. It was six final minutes of pure bliss.
Win Predictor got the result right, with all other games but Kandy’s upside down form reversal saw them trail at half time– then fire home with plenty to spare. Furthermore, our prediction of 7+ tries was exactly that. The video watch got it right. A wonderful result for our form analyzers tipping.
Havies did CR as predicted by 7+. Police proved our value runner yet again, going back to back against Navy with under 7 points. Army huffed and puffed to blow the house down of Airforce by 1-12.
The latter, almost scoring 4 tries to fulfill our long shot but fell agonizingly close. All in all, it was fruitful predicting and stats_pert was yet again on the money.
So, what do we go for the grand final week?… where the DRL winner for 2019 will be crowned. Let’s give the methods of scoring a crack, combined with win predictor.
This is a tricky game to compile on what transpired last week. Kandy’s form reversal and Havies, less than ideal prep is a spanner in the works.
Both teams are plagued with handling errors and discipline issues. There were yellow cards a plenty. However, I am favoring the late surge by the defending champions who beat a red hot CH & FC with some comfort on the back of a “second wind”. For those very reasons, Let’s take the below call.
1st scoring play of the game to be a penalty (Havies or Kandy) and Havies to lead by under 7 points @ Half Time.
Kandy to score 4+ tries in total and win by 12+ points @ Full time.
Total points for the game: 41+ points
Winner: Kandy by 12+ pointsCH V CR:
CH to win by 7-15 points with Samuel Madhuwanthe to score 13+Long shot prediction:
Army to draw with Police and Airforce to beat Navy by 7 points or less
