Windies will be without their skipper Jason Holder for the final Test against England in St. Lucia after the all-rounder was handed a one-Test suspension owing to an over-rate offence in the second Test in Antigua. Kraigg Brathwaite, who has led the Windies team in four Tests, will handle the captaincy duties in Holder’s absence.

This is the second time that Holder has been suspended for a slow over-rate, with the team’s inability to keep up with the over-rate forcing him to miss the second Test against New Zealand in December 2017.

Holder has played a crucial role in the Windies’ first ever series win against England in 10 years. In the opening Test in Barbados, he struck a career-best unbeaten 202 in the second innings and also picked up two wickets to star in his team’s 381-run victory. In Antigua, he picked up a four-wicket haul in the second essay to set up Windies’ 10-wicket victory that helped them register a series win against England for the first time since 2009.
The third and final Test of the series in St. Lucia gets underway from February 9.
