NCC vs Moors

Moors Sports Club were brought to their knees as NCC recorded a massive 543 run win over a below par Moors outfit.

Chasing 617 for victory, Moors SC folded up for just 73 runs – 8 runs short of their first innings 81 all out.

It was the NCC spinners who picked up all wickets to fall, as they strangled the Moors batting right throughout their second innings.

Chathuranga de Silva completed his match bag of 10 wickets with four second innings scalps, while right arm off spinner Sachintha Peiris was the chief wrecker in the second innings with a six wicket haul.

Negombo vs SSC

SSC recorded a comfortable innings and 46 run victory over the newly promoted Negombo Sports Club.

Lasith Croospulle continued his good form with a fighting 87, but it wasn’t enough as Negombo SC were bowled out for just 188 runs.

Akash Senaratne bowled brilliantly to capture three wickets for SSC while Himesh Ramanayake made two crucial breakthroughs in their quest to victory.

BRC vs CCC

CCC recorded a morale boosting win over BRC as they were home early on day 3 with an innings and 118 runs victory.

It was the ever consistent Malinda Pushpakumara who captured five wickets once again while Wanindu Hasaranga picked up three wickets.

Rumesh Buddika was the only man to provide some resistance as he made a fighting 83 for BRC who were bowled out for 275.

SLPA vs Tamil Union

Tamil Union had to be satisfied with first innings points as Sri Lanka Ports Authority held on to a draw in a thriller of a game that concluded today.

Facing a deficit of 171, SLPA ended the day on 296/8 thanks to a marathon effort by former Nalandian Adeesha Nanayakkara who made 137 to stop the Tamil Union charge.

Chilaw Marians recorded a convincing first innings victory over Army Sports Club.

Chilaw Marians made 482/9 in reply to Army SC’s 357, on the back of Sanjika Ridma’s century.

Oshada Fernando’s great run of form continued as he struck 140 at the top of the order, before Risith Upamal completed the good work with an unbeaten century.

Badureliya vs Colts

Priyamal Perera’s double hundred went in-vain as Baduraliya CC came from nowhere to record a brilliant first innings victory.

Shiran Ratnayake and Subramanian Anand got half centuries at the top of the order, but Badureliya still seemed far away from the target as Nisala Tharaka continued to pick up crucial wickets.

But lower-order batsman Lahiru Samarakoon – known for his fast bowling – played the innings of his life to secure a thrilling one wicket win for Badureliya SC.

He in-fact was involved in an unbroken stand of 64* for the last wicket with Buddhika Sanjeewa (9*) giving him company, as he remained unbeaten on 71* inclusive of 7 fours and 2 sixes.
