Sports Minister, Mr. Faiszer Musthapha, has appointed a cricket advisory committee, a tournament committee and an umpires committee for Sri Lanka Cricket, that will function until the Annual General Meeting of the SLC is held.
The appointed committees consist of representatives and members from the controlling clubs of Sri Lanka Cricket. The appointments were made following a discussion between the controlling clubs and Minister Musthapha.
The cricket advisory committee consists of 7 members including the Sri Lanka Cricket head coach Mr. Chandika Hathurusinghe, Chief Cricket Operations Officer Mr. Asanka Gurusinghe, Chairman of Selection Committee Mr. Graeme Labrooy, CEO Mr. Ashley de Silva and the COO Mr. Jerome Jayarathna. The tournament committee and the umpires committee contain 5 members each. Further members may be added to the committees in the future if the need arises.

The initial announcement of the committees were made by the SLC on the 5th of November through a release to the media, while the appointment letters were handed over today (9th of November) at the Ministry of Sports by Minister Musthapha.
The committees will look after the technical aspect of the SLC while a separate management committee, which was also appointed by the sports minister, will take care of the management and administration of the SLC.
“Sri Lanka Cricket needs to have a clear division, with regards to the technical side and administration. I thought it would be good for Sri Lanka Cricket, where people who handle administration do not get involved technical aspects.” – Sports minister Mr. Faiszer Musthapha.
