Thomas’ Grounds and a Thomian record for the best spell surpassing Barney Reid’s 8 for 2 and Bertie Wijesinghe’s 8 for 3. S. Thomas’ also wrote their name in the record books by bowling out St. Mary’s for just 6 runs which is a Sri Lanka schools record.

Devapathiraja College, Rathgama vs Rahula College, Matara
Rahula College were asked to put runs on board first by Devapathiraja who won the toss. Sahan Bandara’s half-century and another couple of 30-plus scores from Binara Sankith and Lakindu Chamodya took Rahula to 230 runs for the loss of 9 wickets before declaring their innings. Pathum Madusanka was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3 for 51.
For Devapathiraja, it was Sudeera Weerarathne (133) and Jeewaka Shashin (124*) who took the steering and batted the game out of Rahula’s reach. They seemed to be in complete control on their way to their hundreds as they batted the whole of day 2. The game ended in a draw with Devapathiraja at 307 for 3.
