After three days in the scorching heat of Colombo, the Kandy team put up an exceptional performance with both bat and ball at the Sinhalese Sports Club grounds to beat Team Galle.
After winning the toss, the Galle under 23 team were dismissed for 181, thanks to some exceptional bowling by Tiron Sivakumaran who picked up 6 wickets for 53. Raminda Wijesooriya top scored for team Galle with 72.
The Kandy under 23 team was prolific with the bat, with Madhawa Nimesh’s ton giving team Kandy a commendable score of 356 in their 1st innings. Hareen Buddhila was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets for 86. Trailing by 175 runs in the 1st innings, the Galle team put up a better performance in their 2nd innings, led by Navindu Nimal who scored an excellent century. Tiron Sivakumaran was once again the pick with the ball, as he picked up 3 more wickets to bowl out the opposition for 302.
Chasing a small target of 127, team Kandy was once again troubled with some brilliant bowling by Hareen Buddhila. But a calm and composed Hasintha Jayasuriya made sure they crossed the line with four wickets in hand.

Nanayakkara picks up 10 wicket match haul for Team Colombo
Colombo under 23 secured a dominant innings victory over Dambulla under 23 at the Colombo Cricket Club grounds.
Batting first on day one, the Colombo under 23 team made a massive 379 led by Akeelllham who made 83. The Colombo batting unit was in stupendous form as four of their batsmen scored half centuries. Randeera Ranansinghe and Aravinda Akurugoda picked up two wickets each for Dambulla under 23.
Team Dambulla needed to bat well in their 1st innings, but that was not the case. Kaumal Nanayakkara led the Colombo bowling attack picking up four wickets, as team Dambulla were bowled out for 158.
A follow on was imposed by the Colombo team captain, and the batting woes did not get any better for the Dambulla under 23 team. Nanayakkara was once again the go to man as he picked up 6 wickets in the innings. Dambulla were bowled out for 160 in their 2nd innings
