India Women’s tour of Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka Women’s cricket will host the Indian Women’s national side in a bilateral series featuring 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is, starting 11th September 2018.

This will be the first time the Indian Women’s team will play a bilateral series in Sri Lanka. The host will look to make maximum use of the home conditions under new coach Harsha de Silva, who has taken over the reins for his 2nd stint as the head coach. The Sri Lankan side will feature some young talent in the series.

At the press briefing, coach Harsha de Silva stated that he is confident with the progress and the effort put in by the girls during the last three weeks, and said; we are positive about our performances on the field, going into this series.

Indian skipper Mithali Raj, currently the highest run scorer for Women’s Cricket in ODIs, along with her team will be aiming to boost their performances in this bilateral series under the guidance of new Head coach Ramesh Powar. Powar took over duties as head coach last month after a month’s interim period, and has being assigned until the ICC World T20 which is scheduled for November 2018.
