Premier League Points Table – Week 3

Gameweek 3 of the 2018/19 Premier League produced some upsets while other results went as expected.

Defending Champions Manchester City stumbled in their encounter against Wolves, as City were only able to salvage a 1-1 draw as they dropped from the top of the table to 5th, while Wolves remain in 14th spot.

Liverpool ended gameweek 3 on top of the Premier League after a 1-0 victory over Brighton, while the Seagulls drop one position to 12th.

Tottenham faced off against Manchester United in the big match of the week, and the Spurs took advantage of City’s stumble as they dominated Man United in a 3-0 win to move to second spot, while United dropped to 13th.

Sarri and Chelsea continued their perfect start as they came out on top in a close but dominant encounter against Newcastle, where the Blues had 81% possession. Chelsea maintained their 3rd position while Newcastle dropped to 16th.

Watford too maintained their perfect start and 4th position as they ended gameweek 3 with 3 wins out of 3. Watford beat Crystal Palace 2-1, yet Palace managed to hold onto their 10th spot from week 2.

Bournemouth and Everton battled out a tough 2-2 draw, resulting in the Cherries remaining in 6th and Everton dropping to 8th. Leicester City meanwhile defeated Southampton 2-1, and moved up to 7th with the Saints dropping down to 17th.

Arsenal finally registered their first win and their first points of the season as they managed to pull off a 3-1 win over West Ham United, moving the Gunners up from 17th to 9th, while West Ham dropped to the bottom of the table.

Newly promoted Fulham too finally registered their first victory and first points as they dominated Burnley in a 4-2 win to move up to 11th, while Burnley drops into 18th. Cardiff City played out their second straight goalless draw, this time against Huddersfield Town, resulting in a point for each side,  pushing Cardiff up to 15th as the Terriers moved up to 19th.
