The second day of the 1st unofficial four day match between the Sri Lanka Emerging Team and South Africa Emerging team was worked off today(27).

The visiting young Proteas had a much better outing compared to their senior team as they dominated proceedings on day two.

After declaring their innings on 394/9, they dismissed a formidable Sri Lanka Emerging batting unit for just 194 runs.

Earlier in the day the visitors resuming their innings on 318/7 went on to add a further 76 runs before they declared their innings. Eathan Bosch batted brilliant with the tail as they increased their tempo with Bosch making a valuable half century.

Malinda Pushpakumara added one wicket to his overnight tally to end with 6/126 while most other Sri Lanka Emerging bowlers looked ineffective against a spirited Proteas batting unit.

The hosts got off to a horrible start as most of their big names including Sri Lanka Test Kaushal Silva failed to fire. It was the promising Sammu Ashan who held the middle order together with a half century but after his dismissal Sri Lanka looked like they would fold up faster than what they eventually did.

The man who has got the knack of always producing something out of nowhere was at it once again for the hosts. More known for his fast bowling, Chamika Karunaratne made a valiant 61 to give some respectability to the Sri Lanka Emerging total.

They were restricted to 194 all-out before the visitors decided to not opt the following on a surface which started to take a hint of spin. Junaid Dawood, Eathan Bosch, Lutho Sipamla, Onke Nyaku and Nandre Burger all picked up two wickets apiece for the visitors.

South Africa Emerging batting a second time around ended the day on 10/1 with Pushpakumara picking up the only wicket to fall.
